Another year, 2007, has passed and is almost gone.  We are presently on the threshold of the New Year – 2008.  The Lord has been good to BKC in 2007.  Our elder Loon Sum Loon set the spiritual pace for us in presenting the Theme Verse for 2007 at our Watchnight Service on 31 December 2006:  “So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Rom. 12:5).  We were challenged to always remember that we operate as a united Body in Jesus Christ.  United with Christ as the Head we will stand together as a Christian Community witnessing in the Katong area where God has placed us these 71 years.

During the year we considered the many aspects of the body life of the Christian Community in BKC.  We studied much about how believers with Christ as the Head work together to complement each and encourage one another.  We devoted one whole month in considering the spiritual gifts that God has given us.  We viewed the video presentation “Your Divine Design” on Sunday mornings taken by Chip Ingram from Walk Thru The Bible.  We even had times of discussion on this topic on Sunday evenings which many found beneficial.  Many were refreshed to know that our good God has gifted us not only with eternal life but also with varied spiritual gifts to serve Him in BKC.  We belong to each other and we serve each other as we serve our Lord.

Now that we have completed these “Body Life” studies, we can proceed to move on to greater things. Our working with each other needs to be a life-long commitment.  We will show to all that we are “Alive in Christ”.  The Body of Christ in BKC is to pulsate with vibrant life for we are to show a watching world that Jesus Christ is alive in our witness for Him.  Our evangelism to “Make Him Known” has to continue for as long as He gives us the breath to tell others that “I serve a Risen Saviour – He’s alive in the world today”. Many among our family, relatives and friends have yet to come to believe in Jesus Christ as Saviour.  Our task as a Body in Christ is to make them come to know Him, who to know is eternal life.  Always remain “Alive in Christ”.
